Weddings in Spain

Palau March

One of the most surprising palaces in Mallorca is Palau March. Built in 1940's by one of the wealthiest Spanish businessmen, Joan March, between the Royal Palace of La Almudaina and the Cathedral. It is  a perfect sample of the classicism remembering the imperial architecture of the 16th Century. It keeps the baroque ornaments and the typical loggia that is common in palaces in Palma.

The wedding ceremony takes place in the music room, decorated with extraordinary frescoes painted by Josep Maria Sert, which evoke the decoration he did at the hotel Waldorf Astoria in NY in 1944. The mansion has an important collection of art, belonging to the March family. The patio of honour offers a spectacular view of the city, the Cathedral and the Castle of Bellver. It also houses a contemporary sculpture collection with masterpieces from great authors such as Rodin, Chillida, Corbero and Henry Moore, among others.
